Fundacion Cunaguaro is a local environmental foundation that leads projects focussed on conservation and the responsible use of natural resources, along with the improvement of the quality of life of local communities. With a deep understanding of the complex dynamics of the Orinoquia region, and great expertise in conservation practices, Cunaguaro works to achieve a balance between human activities and the natural environment where they take place.
Cunaguaro also designs and executes programs for local communities, taking into consideration the social, economic and cultural characteristics of the region, to provide them with sustainable alternatives that contribute to its development –one of them being nature tourism.
El Encanto de Guanapalo is the 9,000-hectare natural reserve where Corocora Camp is located. It is comprised of three cattle ranches that joined with the common purpose of complementing their livestock activities with ecotourism, since they saw it as an alternate, sustainable source of income. This model allows El Encanto de Guanapalo to preserve the local ecosystem and biodiversity, as well as the fascinating culture and traditions of the local llanero cowboys
